Derek Moore
Derek's work reflects his love of architecture, construction, sculpture
and his passion for the most versatile material, clay, and
its history in functional pottery.
Assemblage pottery: Derek's art consists of
the throwing of common pottery forms that are then assembled
into new, unique teapots, pitchers, vases and decanters. He works in a very traditional manner as all his pieces are hand
thrown or slab built, as well as assembled by hand. No pieces
are mold made or reproduced, guaranteeing a unique, one of
a kind, value. In his own love for a particular outcome he may
try and create a series of a style but because of this process,
each piece has its own unique quality and character.
