In addition to our retail floral services, JBF strives to fulfill an important social mission to provide training, work experience and job placement services for people in our community who face multiple barriers to employment. Everything You Want to Know
Just Beginnings Flowers and Margitta’s Flowers of North Vancouver worked together to produce the victory ceremony bouquets for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Vancouver in February and March 2010. These bouquets were designed by our lead designer June Strandberg. June’s former students, who have overcome significant barriers, worked with her to create a bouquet for each medal-winning athlete. They watched the medal ceremonies proudly and knew that they had a hand in creating the beautiful bouquets that were seen around the world. We also had the chance to tell our stories as we were profiled by many news organizations during the games.

Our Mission
The mission of Just Beginnings Flowers is to create a social enterprise dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals with significant barriers to employment and those making a transition in the labour market. We not only provide classroom floral training, we provide a job placement program and assist students in finding employment wherever possible.

Bryce Evergreen
s a seasoned florist with over 8 years of experience. He is known for his impeccable taste and his ability to create stunning arrangements that are both beautiful and functional. Bryce is also a knowledgeable and experienced teacher, and he has taught flower arranging classes all over the world.

Ava Bloom
talented florist who is passionate about using flowers to create beautiful and meaningful arrangements. She is always coming up with new and innovative ways to use flowers, and she is not afraid to experiment with different colors, textures, and shapes. Ava is also a kind and compassionate person who is always willing to go the extra mile to help her customers.

Chandler Rone
is a rising star in the florist industry. He is known for his creative and innovative designs, and he has won numerous awards for his work. Chandler is also a passionate advocate for sustainability, and he uses only locally-sourced flowers in his arrangements.
